20 Things You Should Know About Ryan Star But Too Afraid To Ask.

1. The greatest days of my life are the ones where I meditate in the morning yet I don't do it every day. I can't figure that one out.

2. I believe Jekyll and Hyde are always raging inside of me. It proves itself even in the physical sense as one of my ears is pointy like Lucifer's and the other is not. It was not fun growing up with everyone asking me to “beam them up” (remember this was before Star Trek was cool, pre-J.J. Abrams).

3. I am extremely good at playing those big choice machines. I always get the good teddy bears.

4. I was inspired to title the album 11:59 after a hairy flight from NY to LA. People were actually screaming so write then and there I wrote what I thought could have been my last journal entry about living in the moment. That turned into the album title.

5. Jobs:
-As a kid I worked at my family jewelry store.
-In High School I dangerously loaded trucks at Jones Beach amphitheatre in an effort to hand out my demo tapes to all the managers and musicians.
-In College, I had a photography business and mostly shot aspiring models and made descent money and got to hang out with insecure pretty girls.
(I lost a bet with my drummer from my band "Stage" and I was supposed to get a job at Taco Bell for at least a day. I still haven't but will keep my word the next chance I get I guess.)

6. I am known to fall asleep mid-sentence at after parties on tour.

7. Would fight Tommy Lee.

8. I have what I believe to be genius marketing ideas but for some reason always have to do with condoms.

9. When I was younger I saw Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfleld and a pre-famous Owen Wilson at a sushi restaurant. I want to recreate that night with me at the table. (A little scared they will just talk business and be boring.)

10. I will approach strangers in restaurants and ask how their food was before I sit or to help me to decide what to get.

11. I was a varsity swimmer in High School and I still wear Speedo's when I go swimming. Didn't know it was so weird until one night on tour I sat in the hot tub with David Cook and it got strange quick.

12. One day I want to sit with my brother and a screenplay writer to pen all of the incredible stories of my brother's adolescence into the greatest comedy of all time!!!

13. I have always been attracted to the girl next door. Punky brewster, Winnie cooper, Kelly Kapowski, they ruined me forever.

14. My favorite thing to do besides playing music is snowboarding. I truly feel free and clear coming down the mountains.

15. I hate scented anything.

16. I love concert poster art. I just started buying a bunch. My favorite so far is one for my new favorite band The National.

17. When I was younger, I connected with the story of the frog prince and performed it as a one boy show for my family. I even wrote a song with that title for Stage.

18. I won't shed a tear watching the saddest movies about war or love but if you put a football in a kid's hand and he runs a touchdown for his dad I am balling! Something about the underdog acheiving his goals get me good. I have always felt like the underdog.

19. I look surprisingly good in drag.

20. I didn't get drunk until I was about 25. Note it was one of the best nights of my life so I am not one to tell kids to stay off drugs or in school for that matter.
