Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Mela knew she was destined to be on stage performing or in front of the camera and began acting when she was 9 years old performing in one of the most important theaters in the world, Teatro Colón. A few years later she landed her first lead role in Disney’s popular Argentina show “Jake & Blake” and soon became Argentina’s most popular Disney star. Once her Disney career in Argentina took off, she began booking many commercials and even became the face for State Farm in Argentina. The Latina and Hispanic actress moved to Los Angeles in 2014 where she booked a role in A+E’s high-rated show “Longmire” and continue to grow her career and art with singing, acting and even voiceover work in SUICIDE SQUAD.
When Mela isn’t busy in front of the camera, she loves working on her singing and songwriting as she is working on her first album. Mela is also a fierce advocate for animals, environmental issues, and homelessness.

Interview with: Self Made Millionaire Latina on ‘Business-Barbie’ Empire, Representation & Hollywood Takeover

Actress, singer, entrepreneur and self-proclaimed “Queen of Hollywood,” Marcela Iglesias is perhaps widely known for her outspoken personality and daring wardrobe in Estrella TV’s hit Spanish reality series “Rica, Famosa, Latina,” but what most don’t know about the self-made millionaire is that her real-life ‘Barbie’ business empires was derived from grit, glamour, and decades of hard work!
Rica Famosa Latina – the fan-favorite, gossip-driving reality series – returns to EstrellaTV for a sixth season. Back from a four-year hiatus, the new season explores the lives of six wealthy and socially famous Latina women in Los Angeles and Mexico, along with their high-flying, larger-than-life world of bubbles, Botox, and bling. The series is available to stream across the leading Spanish-language multiplatform and the EstrellaTV App.

Her last business venture consisted of minting her own non-fungible token (NFT) and decided to give fans a signed pillow to make digital art more attractive and real. Pounding the pavement with her revolutionary flair, Marcela Iglesias makes her way to Rarible and sets out to explore more about the world of cryptocurrency and NFTs. 20 years ago, Marcela came to the U.S. as an undocumented immigrant and for the first ten years, worked day in and out to create a life of dreams she always desired as a young girl. Life came to a standstill when she suffered physical and psychological abuse from her first husband which prompted her to pick up and start a new life. Working three jobs and being the sole bread winner for her family (son, mother & father) she knew she was destined for something bigger and began to work towards being the self-made woman she is today. She is now the founder and CEO of the talent management and lifestyle brand ‘The Plastics of Hollywood,’ while simultaneously pursuing her Real Estate investment interests.

The “Do-it-all Barbie” seems to have a hand in every cookie jar in Hollywood and shows no signs of letting go. She recently become a growing sensation after starring on truly Channel’s, “My Extraordinary Family,” Marcela has been very open about cosmetic enhancement and aims to end the stigmas placed for going against the societal grain. She is very candid and honest about her core views in parenting, love, acceptance, and support. Marcela is a strong supporter of animal welfare, LGBTQ+ and women’s empowerment. As a champion for the underprivileged and exploited, she has used her social media platform to reach her over 1M followers on Instagram to raise awareness about issues as women’s equality, anti-animal abuse campaigns, and improved rights for LGBTQ individuals.
