Rising singer-songwriter Kurt Stevens releases soothing single “The Rain,” available now. Inspired by an experience in his coastal hometown of Vero Beach, Florida, Stevens uses his tropical surroundings to describe this majestic day in the surf. Listen to the new track HERE. Written by Stevens with John Frank and Tom Pino, the island-infused tune brings a warm, calming essence of hope to a powerful message. Even through life’s turbulent storms, he’s able to find beauty in the clear, blue waters, golden sun, and sea grape trees. With melodic sounds of ukulele, island percussion, and electric guitar, his blissful paradise embraces the beauty of dancing in the rain.
“I wrote ‘The Rain’ after a surf session that almost didn’t happen back home in Florida,” said Stevens, adding, “As soon as I got to the beach, a storm came out of nowhere, and everyone was running to their cars. I figured I was about to get wet anyway, so I grabbed my board, found a seagrape tree to hide under, and waited it out. Fifteen minutes later, it was blue skies and perfect waves that I had all to myself. ‘The Rain’ is about being patient and sitting tight through the bad stuff in life, knowing that sunshine is always on the other side.”
Had a good night’s sleep
Thought I’d hit the beach
Then the rain came down
I was halfway there
Realized I didn’t care
When the rain came down
I know the sun ain’t goin nowhere
It’s just hiding for a little while
Named the debut “Festival Find” at Maui Songwriters Festival in 2025, Stevens continues to pair feel-good beats with delicate notes of reflection. His fan-favorite single “Everglades” caught the attention of SiriusXM’s Radio Margaritaville, which earned him regular airplay as a featured artist on the channel. Previously, he’s opened for major musical acts including Luke Combs, Jake Owen, Maren Morris, and The Band Perry, amongst others. He will perform during the annual Key West Songwriters Festival this weekend and headline the Bowers Beach Buccaneer Bash on May 23. Stevens plans to release additional music throughout the summer.
