Entertainment World TV : Spotlight on Indie Producer / Actors Randy Oppenheimer
I am a board-certified ENT/Head and Neck Surgeon. I retired from my clinical practice in AZ in 2018 and moved to LA to pursue my second passion career in acting. I started acting in high school, but then went on to be a doctor. I rekindled my passion for acting in 1997 (20 yrs since I performed in high school) , when I starred in a community production of Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat. I then acted in multiple plays and moved into independent movies while practicing my specialty of ENT/Head, and Neck Surgery in Phoenix, Az. I really got the movie bug when I helped produce and act in the “Kings Guard” with Eric Roberts and Ron Perleman in 1999. Since moving to LA, I have been in multiple films and commercials. I am currently in a national commercial for Qunol sleep supplement.
“Fangs Out” is my passion project which finally came to fruition in October 2023. I had an idea that having a Plastic surgeon as a vampire would make a good horror film. The production was a great learning experience in making an ultra low budget film.
In spring 2023 I started doing Stand Up comedy ( as Doc Opp) and have been making the circuit in LA at venues like The Ice House, Flappers, Comedy Chateau, and the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Stand up is like being a surgeon, you get instant gratification when everything goes well and serious humiliation when it doesn’t.
