Step into the mind of a visionary. Opening March 23, the Academy Museum presents Director’s Inspiration: Bong Joon Ho—the first exhibition dedicated to the Oscar®-winning filmmaker and a continuation of our Director’s Inspiration gallery series, which spotlights the filmography and cinematic influences of renowned directors from across the globe.

For the first time ever, explore director Bong’s creative process through 100+ rare items, including original storyboards, film posters, concept art, props, and on-set photos, many from his archive and personal collection. Discover how he brings his bold, genre-defying stories to life.

Then, experience his early films which laid the foundation for his Oscar triumphs in a special, limited screening series in our state-of-the-art theaters. From his darkly comedic thrillers to subversive modern classics, see the evolution of one of cinema’s most groundbreaking directors—only at the Academy Museum.
