Lucero Frontman Ben Nichols Releases Solo Album ‘In the Heart of the Mountain’

oday, Ben Nichols, frontman and songwriter for the long-running Memphis rock band Lucero, released his sophomore solo album In the Heart of the Mountain via Lucero’s label Liberty & Lament. It’s one of his most personal pieces of work to date and marks his first solo release in 16 years since 2009’s acclaimed The Last Pale Light in the West. The album has earned praise from the likes of AV Club, Blue Ridge Outdoor Magazine, Wide Open Country, No Depression, BrooklynVegan, Dying Scene and many more. Along with the album Nichols has also shared the music video for album closer, “The Devil Takes His Leave.”
