Yoke Lore escapes the urban jungle in new video ‘CONCRETE’ – touring West Coast

Grab the backpack and get out of the city Yoke Lore ‘CONCRETE’.  The track sounds is like something that would be in a Sandra Bullock movie which isn’t bad since make over 75 million in the box office.

Following the release of his critically acclaimed new EP Absolutes, Yoke Lore has unveiled the stunning new video for EP track “Concrete.”

Filmed predominately on a trip to Kauai, Hawaii, the video documents all the island’s gorgeous landscapes from a first-person perspective. The video also features cutaways from time spent in New York City to echo the track’s message about needing to live both in the city and in the wild.

‘The song “Concrete” is about my struggle between the rural and the urban. I need the city for its humanity and its pace. But I feel best when I’m in the tress. This video is a visual hunt for those reasons. What parts of myself come out in the forest that I identify with so heavily. What parts of myself come out in the city that I want to engage with and exploit. And can I ever find a balance that suits me.’

Absolutes, out now on Big Indie, explores the grey areas between black and white ideas while building upon the lush, sonic palette of his past works. The new music finds Galvin polishing his heartfelt anthems and ruminating on finding balance amid respective oppositions by breaking through the notion that truth necessitates purity.

The songs on Absolutes gravitate around the struggle between two sides of something. “There must be a balance, some movement and some pull. A life of absolutes is no life at all.” As with his previous releases, Galvin drew the artwork for his upcoming EP using bifurcated lines and contrasting imagery to convey his messages of absolutes.

The release follows a huge 2017 for Galvin, which included the release of his critically acclaimed EP Goodpainracking up over 10 million streams on Spotify, reaching Hype Machine #1 with the EP’s title track, touring with Aquilo, playing his first showcase at The Great Escape and being invited Spotify’s New York City studio to record a covers EP finding a fan in none other than Taylor Swift.

Galvin is heading to the UK in September to play at London’s Omeara on 13th September 2018 and playing again at Omeara on 17th September withJake Isaac before he heads to Germany for several dates including Reeperbahn. Yoke Lore will head back to the US for his headlining fall tour.
