Lila Iké is an old soul with a fresh edge—grounded in reggae tradition yet radiating the swagger and authenticity of today’s global sound. Born and raised in rural Jamaica alongside her mother and three sisters, she has overcome her share of challenges on the road to becoming one of the island’s most promising voices.
Her debut album, Treasure Self Love, is a deeply personal statement that fuses roots reggae, soulful R&B, and dancehall into a modern tapestry of sound. Across the project, Lila explores love in its many forms—romantic, spiritual, and self-affirming—while honoring her Jamaican roots and her journey as a woman carving space on the world stage.
The album features collaborations with Protoje, Masicka, H.E.R., Joey Bada$$, and Maverick Sabre, adding rich textures and international reach to an already powerful body of work.
“This album became my teacher,” Lila shared in an exclusive with Billboard. “What started in 2021 as just music turned into a journey of growth, healing, and real self-love. I thought I was writing songs, but they ended up being conversations with myself. I went through joy, heartbreak, burnout, and clarity—and came out softer, stronger, and more myself than ever. Treasure Self Love isn’t just the name of my album, it’s the lesson. There was a time I didn’t think I’d be able to share it, so this moment feels surreal. I can’t wait for the world to hear it.”
Lila Iké first broke out with her acclaimed 2020 EP The ExPerience on In.Digg.Nation Collective/RCA Records. Since then, she has released a string of singles and standout collaborations with Skillibeng, Samory I, Ini Kamoze, Jorja Smith, WSTRN, and Davido—including an exclusive Billboard x Honda release—and showcased her artistry with a powerful NPR Tiny Desk performance during the pandemic.
With Treasure Self Love, Lila Iké steps fully into her own—delivering a debut that is as intimate as it is universal, as rooted as it is forward-looking.
