Montana folk duo Buffalo Traffic Jam are keeping their big week rolling with the announcement of their second headlining North American run, the Pictures of You Tour. Following a completely sold-out debut headline tour earlier this year, plus last week’s release of their debut album’s title track and the album announcement itself, the 23-date trek kicks off at Aspen’s Belly Up before heading northeast with stops like NYC’s Irving Plaza and DC’s legendary 9:30 Club, then on to Canada. Their debut album, Pictures of You, arrives July 31 on Arista Records in both digital and vinyl formats and is available now for pre-save or pre-order. Pre-sale starts Wednesday at 10 a.m. local time, with public on-sale Friday at the same time.
This tour will bring them to larger venues so fans who missed the last run can finally catch them live, and it will feature the live debut of much of their first album, including the just-released title track “Pictures of You.” The song’s aching nostalgia matches the sweeping beauty of its lyric video, filmed during this year’s sold-out Take Me Home Tour. Despite its quiet intimacy, the track shows exactly why Buffalo Traffic Jam is making waves. Frankie Cassidy’s smoky, close-up vocals and vivid storytelling draw listeners into a scene of personal searching, while he and Nathan Ross push forward from sparse guitar arrangements into something steady and resolute.
