A light fog hangs over a small Bavarian village as the first rays of sunlight break through the valley. Tractors rumble to the fields, roosters greet the morning – and a black van with a trailer full of instruments rolls quietly out of town. Inside are four friends: the three brothers Flo, Jonny, and Dave Stielper, together with Timo Kästner. For the locals, it’s a familiar sight. For nearly 18 years, Good Weather Forecast has been carrying their music far beyond these rural roads – from Sydney to Helsinki to Los Angeles.
With over 800 shows on four continents, GWF has shared stages with Brandon Lake, Elevation Worship, Lecrae, Toby Mac, Switchfoot, Jesus Culture, Skillet and many more. Their catchy anthems, thoughtful lyrics, and uplifting energy – often compared to a mix of Imagine Dragons, OneRepublic, and Blink-182 – have earned them Top 10 chart positions in Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, and even Paraguay. Their 2018 album Superhumans (Starwatch/Sony) became a milestone, streamed millions of times, and today they’re signed with US-based DREAM Label Group in Los Angeles.“When we started out,” says frontman Flo Stielper with a smile, “our dream was to one day win a Dove Award. Who knows – maybe we’re getting closer now.”
But success has never been the band’s main motivation. Alongside their career, GWF built a High School Ministry called “SHINE”, that has brought them into over 500 schools worldwide, where they combine music, stories, and authenticity to inspire the next generation. Today, all four are not only musicians but also fathers – passionate artists and passionate Christians.
Whether at major festivals, on TV shows, in clubs, or high school auditoriums, Good Weather Forecast stays true to their calling: to inspire people with energetic, hopeful music and to make God’s beauty and love visible through their songs and shows.
